This involving rumination on life and death is the fact-based story of a Spanish quadriplegic (Javier Bardem) battling for the right to die. Won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Belen Rueda, Lola Duenas. Directed by Alejandro Amenabar, who co-wrote the script with Mateo Gil. The 2001 made-for-Spanish-TV film, “Condenado a Vivir,” tackles the same subject matter. Rated PG-13
