Genealogy Club Presents: Introducing American Ancestors with Senior Genealogist Melanie McComb

Join us for a virtual introduction to American Ancestors – New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) - who they are, what they do, and how they can help you. With a focus on what is available to virtual viewers, this program talks about navigating the website, exploring American Ancestors databases, finding subject guides, research templates and more. Their online accessible collections cover a wide range of genealogical records from the 17th to 21st century and span geographic locations from New England, the rest of the United States, as well as Canada and Europe. Their services include online courses, AncesTrees-their tree platform, online chat as well as Research for hire. Join this program to learn how American Ancestors can help you accomplish your genealogic goals.

Melanie McComb, Senior Genealogist, assists library visitors, both on-site and online, with their family history research. She is an international lecturer who teaches on a variety of topics. Melanie holds a B.S. degree from the State University of New York at Oswego. She previously served as the social media coordinator for the NextGen Genealogy Network, a non-profit that creates a community for younger genealogists, where she managed the Facebook and Twitter accounts.
