TEEN Candle Making Workshop With Kulina Folk Art
Wednesday, January 223:30—4:30 PMClassroomMain Library40 Washington Street, Quincy, MA, 02169
Join us for a workshop on how to make your very own winter-scented candle! Our friends at Kulina Folk Art will be teaching a one-hour workshop on the basics of candle making, including the different types of candles and the best waxes for each kind. Discover the importance of choosing the right wick size, heat-resistant containers, and the difference between essential and fragrance oils. With complete instructions on candle burning, you'll gain invaluable knowledge and during the workshop, you'll have the chance to make one container candle using luxurious soy wax. To add a touch of seasonal inspiration, choose from a variety of delightful fragrance oils.
Safety warning: The wax is hot and fragrance oils can be strongly scented. The registering of children under 18 years old for this program indicates that the parent/guardian acknowledges the possibility of safety concerns while handling hot wax. Program starts promptly, no admission is allowed after instructions are given. No children will be allowed in the room, only the registered participants.
This program is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library. Click here to find out more about their work and how you can get involved.
