About the Presenter:
Muhammad Iqbal Uddin Arif is a visiting research fellow in the Conflict Resolution, Human Security, and Global Governance Department of the McCormack Graduate School at UMass Boston. His research focus lies at the intersection of climate change and governance, with a specific emphasis on conducting a thematic analysis of the environmental regime in Pakistan.
With an interdisciplinary academic background, Iqbal holds a bachelor's degree in English literature and linguistics. He further pursued his academic journey, obtaining a master's degree in governance and public policy. During his master's studies, he explored the intricate dynamics between religion, cultural norms, and women's electoral participation, unveiling the obstacles hindering their political engagement. Religious studies have also been an important facet of Iqbal’s repertoire.
Iqbal also served as a distinguished teaching faculty member at the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan. With his extensive academic background and expertise, Iqbal is poised to make significant contributions to the fields of climate change, governance, and public policy. Through his research, he strives to foster sustainable and inclusive practices that will positively impact both Pakistan and the global community.
